Finding Peace On Horseback
Hey babes — Happy Sunday!
I just wrapped up the most magical week wandering through Baja, and I’m buzzing to spill everything — the chic little restaurants, those impossibly perfect beaches, and a hotel so dreamy it feels like someone whispered it into existence.
Fun fact about me: I grew up around horses and even rode equestrian in college. Mexico’s riding culture runs deep, so of course I carved out a morning to trail-ride through the desert straight to a secluded beach. It reminded me how grounding horses can be — quiet, steady, and full of peace in a world that feels… anything but.
Scroll for the tiny rituals and tips that help me stay centered (even when life is chaotic).

Peace-Finding Rituals
There are moments you don’t realize are going to change you until you’re standing in them.
This week, I was on a mountain in Baja, sitting on a beautiful horse, looking down at the ocean. The wind was quiet, the sun was soft, and everything felt suspended in time. And then Daniel — the guide who took me on the ride — looked at me and said:
“Capture this moment. When you go back to your busy life and need a moment of peace, remember this.”
I don’t know why… but it hit me.
Maybe because life has felt so fast lately.
Maybe because I’ve been craving calm without even knowing it.
Or maybe because being around horses has always felt like home.
Whatever it was, his words stayed with me.

Riding Has Become My New Ritual
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I used to ride all my life until college. And now, it’s like the universe is guiding me back — slowly, gently.Every trip, I find myself looking for places to ride. Even when I travel with my partner, this is something I do alone. Not because I need to escape, but because it’s the one thing that reconnects me with myself in a way nothing else does. It’s healing. It’s grounding. It’s like breathing deeper without trying. There’s something magical about being in nature, hearing nothing but hooves and wind, and letting your mind soften for a moment.
For Me It’s Horses — For You It Might Be Something Else
Maybe your version of peace is yoga.Maybe it’s running.Maybe it’s a hike, a swim, a book, or a morning cup of coffee in silence. We all need something that pulls us out of the noise and brings us back to ourselves. And this… this has truly changed my life. These quiet moments remind me that I can choose softness, even when life feels demanding. That I can choose rituals that bring me back home to myself. And that peace isn’t something you wait to find — it’s something you create.
A Little Reminder
Capture your own peaceful moments.
Store them somewhere safe.
And when life gets loud… go back to them.
Your soul will thank you. Cheers & martinis, Frances @GalOffDuty
