The Joy of Decorating Early
Hey babes — Happy Wednesday! If you’ve ever walked into a Home Depot in Puerto Rico around September, you know — the holiday season hits early. Like, life-size Santa waving-at-the-door early.
Here, Christmas isn’t just a day — it’s a whole season that dances right through January for Three Kings Day. So yes, decorating early is basically a love language.
Today I’m sharing my joy of decking the halls + a few chic new ornaments I’m obsessed with this year.
Scroll down to get your sparkle on.

The Joy of Decorating Early
There’s something about the first twinkle of Christmas lights that instantly lifts my mood — even if it’s only mid-November. Some people wait until after Thanksgiving, but I’m that girl who decorates early, and honestly… it makes me so happy.
It’s not just about the décor — it’s the feeling. The scent of pine, the soft glow of lights, the nostalgia of past holidays — all of it makes me feel calm, centered, and joyful. It’s like giving my home (and my heart) a little head start on happiness.
This year, I’ve been collecting ornaments throughout the seasons — each one with a special meaning or memory. From a tiny ceramic house I found on a trip to Spain to a seashell ornament that reminds me of home in Puerto Rico — every piece tells a story. Hanging them on the tree feels like revisiting all those beautiful moments.
And yes, I’m team real tree — even if it’s a bit more work. There’s nothing like the smell, the tradition, and that little ritual of finding the perfect one.
My Tips for Creating Holiday Magic Early
• Start small. Light a pine candle, hang a wreath, or put on your favorite Christmas playlist — it’s all about the feeling.
• Collect with intention. I’ve loved picking up ornaments from places like Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, and even Amazon (they have surprisingly chic ones!) throughout the year. Each one has a little story behind it.
• Don’t rush the joy. The holidays can fly by — stretching the season a bit longer lets you actually soak it in. Because really… happiness isn’t about the date on the calendar — it’s about creating the moments that make you smile. ❤️
Are you an early decorator too, or do you wait until after Thanksgiving?
